Having been a big fan of Article Marketing since I pretty much started out in the Internet Marketing world, I have recently questioned my own loyalties towards this ‘ever green’ marketing strategy.
Since starting Alex Jeffreys’ coaching program I have been awakened to the world of Video marketing and I’m now beginning to see the HUGE potential behind this incredible effective method.
If you look at the sales pages of any of the big marketing guru’s and you will see that they all have one thing in common…yes, they are ALL using a video of some kind to increase their conversions. That should tell you something about how powerful this has become. And when you hear that they are improving conversion rates by up to 400% from old written sales copy then you can see why.
So why has video marketing become such a huge success? Well, if you look back to an old written sales page copy and remember how long some of them were, you could be there for the best part of an hour trying to read through and digest all the of information. That is if you had the patience to actually read it all!
But with video all you have to do now is click the play button and sit back and relax while the person on the inside does their best to sell you their product. Video can appeal to more senses than a long written sales copy. You have the visual aspect, and you can either see the product in action or see the marketer who is selling it to you. Either way, it fills a few voids that written sales copy leave.
We have been very lucky on Alex Jeffreys coaching program to have been able to listen to guest speaker Maria Andros (VideoMarketingQueen.com) and hear her incredible story of success, all made though Video marketing. When you hear that she made a 6 figure income in her first year online all from Video marketing, then it really opens your eyes to what can be achieved by using this strategy.
If you have a few spare minutes please take a look at one of Maria Andros’ videos to hear a bit of her story and to get some inspiration and empowerment to help you move forward.

Hey Paul,
I could not agree with you more. Video makes things seem more personal than trying to plow through 11-12 pages of copy. Give you almost instant creditability.
I really like your site. How do you get everyone\’s pictures on the right sidebar? That is a really neat look and I would like to copy it if I could. Shoot me an email if you feel like sharing.
Thanks and
Keep up the good posts!
Lee
Paul,
Great post, I too am a fan of article marketing which I think is a great long term strategy. However so much benefit now seems to be gained from the Web 2.0 strategies, particularly through videos and social media bookmarking that its an important area to get involved in.
I think one of the keys is the level of trust that actually seeing the person can bring over and above a faceless salesletter or product ‘review’. As with a lot of the content of the course, video is vital in helping establish your reputation and position yourself and business on the internet.
Keep up the good work,
Tom
Personally, using videos has been very useful for me. My website tells you about that.
Considering the attention span of net surfers today, you have to use a great mean to communicate effectively within the shortest possible time.
Indeed, those videos are more appealing than conventional reading.
Enjoyed your post!ss
Hi Lee, exactly, you don’t need to sit there for an hour reading all the sales copy when a video can just deliver the information right to you as you sit back and relax.
The pictures are Gravitars, you need to sign up for a free account with them. I’ll drop you an email with all the details.
Cheers,
Paul
Hi Tom,
Article marketing is still a very effective strategy and I certainly won’t be dropping it, but I think video marketing adds a whole new dimension to it and it has already proved how effective it can be.
Cheers,
Paul
Hi Paul,
I know that long copy loses me. I’ll scroll to the bottom to see the price and then *maybe* go back and skim over some of it. Amazing how many times you can’t even find the price though which, needless to say, leads me straight to the “X” to close the page.
From what I’ve been reading article marketing is starting to lose it’s effectiveness just from the saturation level. Sites like eZine Articles are seeing their page rankings drop due to this I imagine the use of videos has a lot to do with it also.
Awesome video from Maria that deserves sharing as much as possible so I’m going to add it to my site also. Thanks for posting it!!
Cheers,
Rod
Hey Paul,
I think video is definitely the future, and it will help us to get our message over to people, and enable us to build relationships quicker.
For me it feels uncomfortable, but I am pushing forward
Your videos on your other posts are great, and I look forward to more!
Talk soon
Paul
Even I’m just first time reach at your blog but by watching your video I know you will be good friends. Anyway nice clean blog too.
p.s. still not doing my video yet as ask By Alex.
Hi Rod,
You’re exactly right! People do just skim over long sales copy and often can’t even find the price…found that out a few times myself, and straight to the ‘X’ button to get out of there. Video is so much more engaging.
I still think a well written article with good keyword research and placement can be very effective. They still have the ability to get to the top of the search engines if the keywords are right and you do enough back-linking to get it there.
Thanks for sharing Maria’s video too, i think she delivers a great message and gives people a lot of inspiration too.
Cheers,
Paul
Hi Paul,
Yes, videos are very effective. It can be uncomfortable doing your first one, but just think about what you want to say rather than thinking about what you are sounding like and you’ll find it a lot easier. Plus once you’ve done your first, they just get easier and easier after that
Cheers,
Paul
Hi Syed,
Thanks for visiting and leaving your comment, look forward to chatting with you soon.

Paul,
Great reminder of the power of video marketing these days.
Maria Andros has really done a great job over the past year or so helping others understand the value of the medium.
Also, spent a bit of time on skype with Marcus Passey today. He told me how much you helped him regarding giveaways. That’s very cool.
See you around… Keep up the great content.
Cheers,
Rob
Hi Rob,
Yes, Maria Andros has done some amazing things with video and has really opened my eyes to the potential with it.
Marcus is a great guy and I love helping him out, i just really want him to start getting his list building underway.
Cheers Rob,
Paul
Hi Paul,
What an excellent post. Having just completed my first video I know how daunting it can be, just perceiver, it isn’t that bad.
I certainly agree that Video Marketing seems to be taking over from Article Marketing, for most people it is much easier to sit and let it flow from your mouth than it is to write an article or a sales letter that may cover several pages.
Keep up the good work.
Stewart
Hi Paul,
I really like the look of your blog. That is something I can now only dream of. I also like the way you write your posts.
As for video versus articles I’m not sure if they are the same category. Video has certainly a bigger initial impact and the sensory advantage is indisputable. But if somebody is too lazy to read and only watches videos, I’d be willing to bet that they don’t pay that much attention when they watch either.
I agree with you completely when you say that you won’t abandon article writing. The printed word or the form of it in cyber space is more durable, takes much less space and is more easily distributable. For those who are ready to abandon it I’d remind them what the pundits were predicting when the computers and the internet started to be wide spread. I’m sure you all heard about so called “paperless society”. Guess what, more paper is used now than before the computer age.
So the best thing to do is to do both articles and video. It doesn’t have to be either one or the other.
Paul I want to thank you for being very helpful. I hope to keep learning from you.
Best Regards.
Hello Vance, thank you for visiting my Blog and taking the time to write this detailed comment. I think you can put video and articles into the same category when you are talking about sales copy. In this respect I think video has now become a much more effective method to get a sales pitch across. But I agree also, that I certainly do not think that video has rendered articles to be obsolete. An informative article can still deliver a very strong message, plus they are easy to manipulate in the search engines. This is the main reason why i will still write articles to drive traffic and promote products, as i understand how to get them ranked high in the search engines. Being fairly new to video, i still don’t fully understand how they react to back-linking like i do with articles.
It is always my pleasure to help you Vance, please just let me know any time you would like further help.
Cheers,
Paul
Hey Paul!
I’m glad you threw your new header image up there man, it’s looking great on here!
Also, awesome post. I completely agree that video sales pages and videos in general will FAR EXCEED what written pages will do. To tell you the truth, I don’t know if I’ve truly read through an entire written sales page, simple because I lose interest if someone trying to overly push their products.
For some reason I don’t feel this if I watch videos for product promotion. So because of this, I know I’m more willing to buy!!
Keep the video goodness coming!!
Joe Fier
Hi Joe,
I’m like you, if there is a long sales copy I can’t read it all. I’m just desperate to get to the bottom and see how much it is!
Thanks for the header, love it
Cheers,
Paul
Hi Paul
I really like the concept of video (even though I hate the camera) as a marketing tool. I subscribe to the view that in most cases your marketing strategy needs a bit of everything so all bases are covered.
So I personally would put a weight on each strategy and use all of them Atricles, Blogging, PPC (if i knew what i was doing), Web directories but obviously put the most effort into the biggest converters – its just like a large puzzle really isn’t it?
Hi Peter, you’re right, it is like a large puzzle and it’s all about finding the right pieces that fit. Video marketing is going to play a huge part in many marketers success this year and beyond, so it is a great piece of the puzzle to have.
Cheers,
Paul
P.S. Once you have made your first video they all get easier after that
I just finished creating my first video. I tried to make it ‘flow’ but couldn’t, until I reread the 7 steps to creating a video that Maria Andros shared and it suddenly ‘clicked’.
I’m gratefull for following Maria’s advice and I think we should all stop reinventing the wheel so to speak, and just go with what our mentors tell us is proven and tested.
-Gil
Hi Paul
Having just written a long sales page I agree! So I\\\’ve just downloaded a video template to use next time.
Nice post mate.
Regards
Mike
Hi Gil, absolutely, as Alex always says, “don’t get it right, just get it going”
Hi Mike, yes for sales letters video is definitely the way to go
Cheers,
Paul
Hi Paul.
How are you doing? I totally agree with you about vids, they have got to be the way forward. I have just finished my first vid, strange at first but you do get used to seeing your self on screen. its not perfect but room to improve. ha ha. Pop over to my blog have a look and leave a comment.
keep in touch.
Regards Steve.
Video marketing has to be the next step….the problem ive got is trying to look natural i get in front of the camera and somebody else takes over my voice and i sound like a school teacher!!
Also the technology and tricks is a bit daunting …so its a big step for me but i will keep trying.
